Puns, Holidays, Punny Holidays

I love puns. I love holidays. I love holidays that lend themselves to puns. I especially love when sports teams get in on the punny action.

Valentine's Day lends itself to puns, and the sports world took advantage.

Maybe it's because I'm making an effort to pay more attention to social media this year that I noticed it, but here are some of my favorites that came out of Valentine's Day from the sports world (and one from social media in general). Here are my favorite things I saw on social media this weekend:

5. Valentine's Day Cards (Pt 1)

Many teams felt the need to make Valentine's Day cards that you could give to your significant other to show both your love of them and the love of your team. I'm saving my favorite cards for last, because the NHL provided me with some amazing options and it was tough picking my favorites from the league. Here are some that I enjoyed from the Saints and the Dynamo, that I did send to my friends who love sports and puns.

4. Valentine's Day Cards (IRL)

Ohio State went above and beyond and sent something to the mother's of their recruits. There's no better way to get to a kid than through their mother! As a mother, I would be gushing about this for weeks...months.. years!

3. Valentine's Standards

Nothing says love like the standards of using a sweetheart to speak for you, or writing a poem for your sweetie.

2. Gift Boxes

1. Valentine's Cards (WINNERS!)

While others NHL teams had me laughing out loud with their puns, none were able to keep me coming back like the Nashville Predators. I may still have these on my phone to use in case of some punny emergencies.

Some people are not so lucky in love on Valentine's Day, and feel the need to take to the internet to express that frustration, and provide a little humor at the same time.

What awesome things did you see on the internet that were Valentine-punny? Do you like puns? I'm starting to learn lots of people don't like puns.
