Throwback Thursday - College Bestie

I'm so excited that my college bestie and I are taking a girls roadtrip this weekend!

Since she's gotten married and we've both had children, the time we get to spend as just two women is very rare. We decided last year that instead of buying each other gifts for our birthdays and Christmas, we would make more of an effort to hang out with each other during the year.

Gifts are great, but the time spent with good friends is truly priceless.

I'd like to take you back to one of the last trips that we had before children.

Look how young we were!

We decided to spend the day at one of those exotic petting zoos where they let you feed the animals. It was a lot of fun, until it wasn't. (But don't worry, then it was again!)

I liked the llamas because they had personality and they weren't afraid to show it.

Cheesing for the camera

The llamas were fun to hang around, but also really aggressive with their desire to be fed. K (college bestie) managed to feed them just fine. They loved her.

I wasn't so lucky.

That adorable guy up there cheesing for the camera didn't like his picture taken.

He proceeded to spit in my hair to prove his point. It looked very not safe for work, and not something you would want parents to have to try and explain to their children.

This was at the beginning of our trip, so I had to make due with a poor attempt of cleaning up in the bathroom.

B is not amused.

Lesson learned - Llamas think they are being courted by all of these visitors. Feed them so they don't think you are just trying to take advantage of them by taking their picture and retaliate.

I'll be gone for a few days as the two of us head to New Orleans! Bring on the king cake!
