Weekly B

PAST WEEKLY GOALS

- Complete Week 2 of Yoga Booty Ballet
I missed one of the workouts this week and ended the week with three days of no workouts. I worked until 9pm on Thursday and Friday, and when I got home crashed. I had to be at work for 9:30am on Saturday, and when I left at 1pm, I was more concerned about spending Valentine's Day with kiddo than working out. We both passed out by 9pm. Some things are a little more important, and I'll kick myself back into shape for most of next week.

 - Have a "ME" Date

- Begin reading The Story of Awkward
I tried, but couldn't get into it, so I'm on the hunt for a new book, again.

- Blog three times

- Purchase items needed for Lent
(more on this in a blog post closer to Mardi Gras)

- Finalize Valentine's plans for kiddo

Weekly B

Planning to start February off right!

PAST WEEKLY GOALS

- Complete Week 1 of Yoga Booty Ballet
I just started Yoga Booty Ballet, and although this was a gag gift, I love it. I can't wait to see how my body reacts to more than a week of it, but I sleep so much better doing this before bed.

- Finish reading MWF seeking BFF
I was able to finish this one and two other books this week. I don't know what it is lately, but I've had some decent luck with books.

 - Begin reading Love and Other Impossible Pursuits
I tried. I really did, but I just couldn't get into this book. Even though I began reading it, I brought it back to the library because I knew I wasn't going to be able to get into it. I might check it out again later, but right now, we weren't a good fit.

- Purchase items for Operation Christmas Child
(The items for this month are bar soap, wash cloths and deodorant.)

- Blog three times

- Purchase items needed for Lent
I wasn't able to get to the store this week, so this one is staying on the to-do list for next week.

- Finalize Valentine's plans for kiddo
I have a general idea of what I want to do, now it's all about planning the execution.

Weekly B

Planning to start February off right!

PAST WEEKLY GOALS

- Complete Blogilates Beginners Week 4
Well, I had a good run. I was able to squeeze in all but one workout this month. I'll take that. Not a 100% success, but still a successful month.

- Begin reading Serena
I even finished this one! I didn't think I would enjoy it as much as I did, but once I started it was a quick read.

- Post three blog posts
I'm finding that this sometimes gets harder as my weeks get busier, but I'd like to stick to a minimum three blog posts a week.

- Menu plan for February
I've found it easier to knock my menu planning out in advance. It saves me the trouble of having to think of stuff each week while I'm at the grocery store. My shopping is more streamlined, and so is my budget!

- Plan of attack for managing resolutions for February
The plan is in place, now we'll just have to see if I can make it work. The goal is to finish 4 books, complete 90% or more of the YBB workouts, and save $182. The last one will be tough, but I'm committed to cutting back on spending to make it work.

Weekly B

Girls weekend was amazing! I'm looking forward to a slower week this week and getting back to a "normal" schedule as far as these workouts are going.

PAST WEEKLY GOALS

- Complete Blogilates Beginners Week 3

- Begin reading MWF Seeking BFF
This one was tabled because I began reading An Unexpected Gift instead. I'll be starting this book later this week.
- Post three blog posts
To some people this may not seem like much, but to me managing to get three blog posts up in a week is major progress! Next month the challenge will be to get more on a schedule, but for now I'm happy with just keeping up with a set number of posts.

- Enjoy a girls weekend with my college bestie!
I ended up having to work, but my co-worker and I did manage to enjoy our trip to Houston and then a girls night watching the NHL All-Star game and reality tv when we got back into town.

Weekly B

Last week was busy with multiple games, but I was able to keep on top of my personal to-do list! I think it helped that the event that was scheduled for the weekend was cancelled, so it freed me up for some quality time with kiddo.

PAST WEEKLY GOALS

- Complete Blogilates Beginners Week 2
I not only finished Week 2, but started Week 3! I need to move my rest day of this week to be back to back with my rest day next week so I can squeeze everything in before heading off to New Orleans for the weekend.

- Begin reading Girl in Hyacinth Blue
I finished reading this book, and another one this week. It seems like January has been a solid month of reading for me, but I've just gotten really good books!

- Cook one new meal
This time I took to my cookbooks to find a recipe that had everyone asking for seconds! (Blog post on that one coming up soon!) I haven't used my cookbooks in a long time, so I'm going to try (HA!) to stay off of Pinterest and use these for a while.

- Post three blog posts

- No cell time when hanging with kiddo after work this week
I know that I wasn't perfect with this one, but I felt that I did better than normal. I'm making more of an effort to leave my personal phone in my room, and only having my work phone in the same room so it's not as much of a temptation.

- Purchase Operation Christmas Child items for the month
I purchased some toothbrushes and toothpaste from the Dollar Tree to start collecting for our boxes this year. I'd like for our family to sponsor one boy and one girl. I have some extras that I've picked up with coupons, and if we can't make full boxes, then I'll use any additional to donate for placement in other boxes.

The Weekly B

We'll start this edition of the Weekly B with an update on my goals for last week. I know some people think that I keep my weekly goal list small to help achieve my success, but I can assure you that is not the case! In this season of my life, I know how much free time I have (which is not much), and I know that I want to devote as much of that to kiddo as I can.

Without further ado, here is how I did last week:

PAST WEEKLY GOALS

- Complete Blogilates Beginners Week 1
I might be a little bit crazy, but I feel like my stomach muscles have started to suck themselves in and my back has started to instinctively straighten itself out. While it was frustrating to see that I gained a half a pound on the scale, it was exciting to see that I lost at least 1 inch off of all my measurements!

- Select and begin reading a new book
Not only did I select and begin reading my next book, A Plain Man, I was able to finish that one. My next selection was #GIRLBOSS, which I also finished reading. (Don't ask how, but I was on fire with reading this week.)

- Cook one new meal
I tried. According to my mom, what I was thinking was uncooked brownie batter, was all the fudgy parts of the batter in one portion of the dessert. So I didn't fail! Plus my banana pancakes tasted fabulous, despite looking like I dug them out of a dumpster.

- Post three blog posts
I was able to complete three blog posts this past week! I've started to get a better idea of the feel I want this blog to have, and I think that's helped me out when working on ideas for posts. I have many drafts (MANY! If I don't jot down the ideas I have when I have them, I'll forget them.)

Since last week went so well, let's try making some goals for next week:

WEEKLY GOALS

- Complete Blogilates Beginners Week 2
(This could be a challenge with games/events 4 of 7 nights next week)

- Begin reading Girl in Hyacinth Blue

- Cook one new meal

- Post three blog posts

- No cell time when hanging with kiddo after work this week

- Purchase Operation Christmas Child items for the month
(I still receive emails from a church that I visited before joining my own, and I noticed last year that every month they would ask people to purchase 1-2 items for Operation Christmas Child. I thought this was brilliant since it's easier on the budget to grab a few items each month. This year, I vowed to follow their purchasing guide so we might be able to help more children this year.)

Have a great week, y'all!

The Weekly B

This week has been difficult without having kiddo here with me, but it gave me time to get some much needed things accomplished around the apartment.

I spend a good portion of the week doing some organizing and cleaning. I organized and cleaned my bathroom. While some people may not realize what an accomplishment that is, I must admit that I am a bath products hoarder. It wasn't until tackling this organization project that I realized the extent of my hoarding. (It's slightly embarrassing) Everything now has a place, and perhaps I can hold off on buying any products until I actually need them now.

Look how clean that counter is!

Box for shampoos and body sprays
Box for face products
Box for shower gels and lotions

All travel toiletries I've collected, samples received,
and other misc bathroom products accounted for

I also began reorganizing my bedroom. I'm about halfway through with this project, and hopefully will complete it over the course of this next week.

I spent New Year's Eve with my TX bestie. Our party consisted of sitting around her apartment in pjs while we ate pizza and Rice Krispie treats. We also enjoyed a few adults beverages while we watched the 1D Special that aired last week, The Road to the Winter Classic, Bad Neighbors, and The Fluffy Movie before watching the ball drop in Times Square. We managed to stay awake until One Direction's performance on the after party, but we rang in 2015 the only way party animals like us could, from our sleep!

After watching the Winter Classic, which was an AMAZING game, I came back home and began to debate taking my Christmas decorations down before the Epiphany. (They're still up. I could never take them down before!)

The highlight of the week for kiddo was our mascot's birthday party at work. She was sad when he left her to play with other kids and had a little meltdown, so we had to leave, but all in all it was a fun time.

Family selfie!

WEEKLY GOALS

One thing that I'd like to do this year, is to start being more diligent about setting some weekly goals for myself. Some weeks there may be more than others, but I want to at least go into my week with a game plan for things that I'd like to accomplish. I do this at work, so why not do it at home?

Here is what I'd like to accomplish this week:

- Complete Blogilates Beginners Week 1
- Select and begin reading a new book
- Cook one new meal
- Post three blog posts

Have a great first full week of 2015, y'all!
